ABC
The first module of the General Human Design Training. Eight four-hour online sessions spread over eight weeks, devoted to exploring the deeper mechanics of the BodyGraph: the 36 Channels and the six Circuits into which they are organised, the duality between conscious and unconscious in every Design, and the structure of the hexagram with its six Lines.
The course is intended for those who have completed Living Your Design and have spent enough time experimenting with their Strategy and Inner Authority in everyday life to recognise them in action—normally at least three months after completing LYD.

Recognise the six Lines of the hexagram
Investigator, Hermit, Martyr, Opportunist, Heretic and Role Model: these are the six archetypes that structure every Gate in the Mandala. They are the first level of detail through which Human Design distinguishes the nuances between people who might appear similar when viewed only through their Centres or Channels.
Explore the 36 Channels in your Design
Every Channel that is Defined in you is a consistent, reliable function of your organism. Every undefined Channel is an opening through which you absorb and amplify the qualities of others. Seeing both changes how you understand tension, attraction and strain.
Recognise the Circuit Groups in your Design
Individual, Tribal and Collective: the six Circuits in the BodyGraph describe three different ways of relating to other people and to life. Knowing which are most prominent in your Design explains much of what you might call your “relationship style” but is, in fact, precise mechanics.
Distinguish your conscious side from your unconscious side
Your chart contains who you believe yourself to be—shown in black, the Personality—and who you are without knowing it—shown in red, the Design. These two distinct mechanics coexist, and many inner tensions arise from this duality when it goes unrecognised.
Begin to find your way through the qualities of a Design
After Rave ABC, the BodyGraph is no longer a mysterious image. You begin to distinguish Channels, Circuits, the conscious/unconscious duality and the structure of the Gates. You know where to look to understand the source of particular qualities and patterns. You have not become an analyst, but you can begin to navigate both your own Design and those of the people close to you.
Distinguish your mechanics from inherited habits
Much of what you think of as “the way you do things” is actually a layering of absorbed habits—from family, school and the environments in which you had to adapt. Rave ABC helps you see which behaviours arise from your mechanical nature and which you are repeating through habit or conditioning.
Course structure
Every Rave Chart is actually composed of two separate calculations. The first uses the date and time of birth—the black side, the Personality, the conscious dimension of the Design. The second uses a date approximately three months earlier—the red side, the Design, the unconscious dimension. In the first part of the course, we explore the role of each side and how they contribute to the whole.
This distinction has a decisive practical consequence: who you believe yourself to be, the Personality, and what you do automatically, the Design, are two separate mechanics operating within the same person in very different roles.
We work with the structure of the BodyGraph: the 36 Channels connecting the nine Centres, organised into three Groups—Individual, Tribal and Collective—each linked to different human functions. Every Channel is a synthesis that arises between two specific Gates: an entity in its own right, not the sum of the Gates from which it emerges. There are 64 Gates in total. Within the 36 Channels, the Integration Channels form a category of their own, relating to the connection between the Self and the whole.
Using participants’ charts, we see exactly which Channels and Gates make up each map, how they combine and which Circuit Groups predominate. This applied work turns abstract knowledge into a growing recognition of your own mechanics and those of others.
The final part of the course is devoted to the six Lines that structure every Gate: Investigator, Hermit, Martyr, Opportunist, Heretic and Role Model. Each Line is an archetype of operation that gives a particular nuance to every Gate in which it appears.
The Lines are not yet applied to the individual Profile—that is covered in Rave Cartography. In Rave ABC, they are introduced as a structural layer of the system, revealing how every Gate contains an inner complexity expressed through six possible variations.
How the course works
The course takes place online via Zoom, in eight weekly sessions of four hours each, for a total of 32 hours.
Sessions alternate between theory and work on real charts: yours, and those you bring with you—partners, children, parents, friends and colleagues. This is what anchors the concepts. Seeing the mechanics at work in different people and contexts turns what would otherwise remain abstract into something concrete.
Between sessions, you have a week to integrate what you have learned, observe your own qualities and those of the people you live with, and collect questions for the next meeting. The 32 hours are deliberately spread out to make room for this work in between.
