Cartography
The second module of the General Human Design Training. Eight four-hour online sessions spread over eight weeks, devoted to the holistic operation of the BodyGraph through four views: Type, Authority, Definition and Profile.
While Rave ABC explores the individual elements of the mechanics—Circuits, Channels and Gates—Cartography reveals how they form a single, coherent quantum. The course is intended for those who have completed Rave ABC and spent enough time experimenting with its content in everyday life—normally at least six months after completing ABC.
The course is designed for those who are no longer trying simply to recognise the individual building blocks of their Design, but want to understand how the whole operates: how Type, Authority, Definition and Profile combine into a single living dynamic, and how that dynamic relates to the people around them. It is also the natural next step for anyone considering professional training, as the Cartography certificate opens that door.
What changes after this course
Recognise the particular nature of your Profile
Your Profile is the archetypal costume you wear as you move through the world: a combination of two of the six Lines of the hexagram, already introduced in Rave ABC, applied to your specific Design. Through it, you discover how your life dynamic manifests in practice and whether it resonates with that of others.
Understand the Definition in your Design
Single, Split, Triple Split or Quadruple Split: the way your Defined Centres connect—or do not connect—determines how energy and information move through you, as well as what you seek or avoid in relationships with others.
Deepen your understanding of Inner Authority
In LYD you were introduced to your Authority in broad terms. Here, we examine its specific forms and classify the Channels from its perspective. Recognising that your way of making decisions is not the same as that of the people you love means no longer wondering why they do not decide as you do—or why you cannot decide as they do.
Recognise how your Not-Self is organised
Every Centre has its own Not-Self potential, already introduced in LYD. In Cartography, we see how these different aspects interact and serve one another within a hierarchy specific to your Design: which Centre gives your Not-Self its loudest voice, and what that voice sounds like.
See your Design as a single quantum
The four views—Type, Authority, Definition and Profile—are not four separate pictures, but four perspectives on the same coherent entity. After Cartography, you begin to read the whole instead of adding up its components.
Gain access to professional training
The Rave Cartography certificate gives you access to the Human Design professional training programme, PTL. There is no obligation to continue—but if you want to become an analyst, this is where the door opens.
Course structure
The course consists of eight sessions and alternates topics from one meeting to the next to make them easier to absorb. Rather than exhausting each view in consecutive blocks, it interweaves work on the Profiles with the introduction to Definition, Authority and the other elements that deepen the understanding of an individual Design.
Single, Split, Triple Split and Quadruple Split: the way the Defined Centres connect within your Design determines how energy and information move through you, and how your aura relates to the auras of others.
The most substantial part of the course
The 12 Profiles are the heart of Cartography. We explore the structure of the Rave Mandala, the hexagram and its six Lines, the Incarnation angles—Right Angle, Left Angle and Juxtaposition Cross—and the Profiling Gates of the G and Defence. We then work specifically with the 12 Profiles: the seven Right Angle Profiles (1/3, 1/4, 2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6, 4/6), the Juxtaposition Profile (4/1), and the four Left Angle Profiles (5/1, 5/2, 6/2, 6/3).
The forms of Inner Authority—Emotional, Sacral, Splenic, Ego and G—are examined in detail, classifying the Channels in a Design from the specific perspective of each Authority. We also explore the decision-making mechanics of Mental Projectors and Reflectors: the Sounding Board and Lunar Authority.
Alongside the three views, we examine other elements that enrich the reading of a Design: • the
hierarchy of the Not-Self across the nine Centres;
• the nodal trajectory and the Cross of
Life; • an introduction to cognitive
frequencies.
How the course works
The course takes place online via Zoom, in eight weekly sessions of four hours each, for a total of 32 hours.
Sessions alternate between theory and work on real charts: yours, and those you bring with you—partners, children, parents, friends and colleagues. This is what anchors the concepts. Seeing the mechanics at work in different people and contexts turns what would otherwise remain abstract into something concrete.
Between sessions, you have a week to integrate what you have learned, observe your own qualities and those of the people you live with, and collect questions for the next meeting.
