The Rave BodyGraph

Structure

The BodyGraph is made up of nine Centres.
These Centres describe the different qualities and functions inherent in a human being, including creative and sexual energy, the ability to survive and conceptualise, willpower, emotions and inspiration.

The Centres are connected by 36 Channels, much like cities linked by a network of roads. Among other things, each Centre is associated with specific endocrine glands in the human body. The Channels can therefore also be understood as pathways through which these glands communicate via hormones and the nervous system.

The Centres can be grouped according to their function: there are two Pressure Centres, four Motors, three Awareness Centres, the Throat Centre of expression and the G Centre of identity and direction. That appears to make eleven, but only because two of the Motors are also, respectively, a Pressure Centre and an Awareness Centre.

Definition and openness

In your individual Rave Chart, the BodyGraph clearly shows coloured areas—what is Defined in you—and white areas—what is Open.

What is Defined consists of fixed qualities imprinted at birth: consistent aspects of yourself that you can rely on. What is Open marks the areas where you are receptive, susceptible to influence and vulnerable to conditioning by others.
To use a metaphor, the coloured areas are like the walls of your home: solid and always the same. The Open areas are like its windows: what you see through them changes constantly and depends on what is outside, not on you.

Knowing which parts of yourself you can trust and which are influenced from outside makes a decisive difference in every choice you make in daily life. But the chart can reveal far, far more about how you work…

Conscious and unconscious

The Defined aspects of the BodyGraph are shown in two different colours.

Black indicates conscious aspects—the qualities of the Personality. These are the elements you are directly aware of and use to build your self-image.
Red indicates unconscious aspects: qualities that operate without your awareness but that other people recognise and reflect back to you. These are often the very behavioural traits that cause you the most irritation or discomfort when you encounter them in someone else.

Understanding the qualities, needs and fears of your unconscious can help you see more clearly what drives you, distinguish other people’s projections from genuine aspects of yourself, and recognise the impact you have on those around you.

Understanding your BodyGraph is where everything else begins. The best way to do that is through your own Individual Analysis.
