The four Aura Types

Human Design can describe in great detail many of the qualities that distinguish one person from another. The most fundamental is your Aura Type, which sets the broad parameters for how you operate. Understanding the core mechanics of your Type helps you recognise the root cause of the resistance you encounter in life.

The energy of Life
~70% of humanity

The quality of your life is shaped by how you use your energy. If you devote it to pursuing wealth, recognition or love from others, yet those pursuits leave you without a sense of genuine physical satisfaction at the end of the day, frustration will inevitably define your experience. When you allow yourself to respond to what brings you physical satisfaction, your energy renews itself naturally—much like the seemingly endless vitality of most young children.

The awareness of Life
~20% of humanity

The quality of your life is shaped by what you are able to see and recognise. This is primarily expressed through your relationship with the other person—anyone you meet one-to-one. When you focus on yourself and what you are doing rather than on the person in front of you, you experience the bitterness of never being recognised for who you truly are. When you wait for the other person to invite you in, you can attune to them; they can recognise the value of your awareness, and you can experience the success of simply being yourself.

The flow of Life
~9% of humanity

The quality of your life depends on how much interference you encounter as you move through it. The more you overlook the impact your actions have on other people, the more anger you will experience in response to their resistance. The more you inform others before you act, the less likely they are to stand in your way, allowing you to move through life in peace.

The connection with Life
~1% of humanity

The quality of your life depends profoundly on the environment around you. The more you cling to the idea of a fixed identity, the more your surroundings turn you into a bored and disappointed bystander. The more you release the need for a consistent identity, the more life can surprise you over time—suddenly placing you in unexpected environments and among unexpected people, sometimes original, inspiring and seemingly made for you.
